Father of one, lover of football, music and travel - citizen of the world but a Londoner born and raised. Passionate, qualified secondary school teacher of 5 years with 11 years of experience supporting children's needs. I have a history as a cover supervisor and SEN learning support assistant.
With five years of experience as a qualified English teacher, including two years as a Professional Learning Mentor and Reading Lead, I am passionate about enhancing student learning. I have a strong track record in raising literacy levels, evidenced by the successful implementation of a Reading (Literacy) Toolkit at an Ofsted-rated Outstanding Secondary School in the borough of Croydon since 2020. My students have achieved notable success in GCSE and A-Levels, as well as extracurricularly, including a win at the Croydon Regional finals of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. I expertly teach the GCSE and A-Level curriculum across all exam boards, with a particular focus on AQA. I excel in differentiated lesson planning, fostering engagement, and providing strong pastoral support.
I foster inclusive learning environments. My key skills include adaptability, teamwork (attempting to factor in students' interests to ensure greater rapport), and strong communication. Committed to equitable education, I actively engage with the community to promote accessible learning for all students regardless of perceived barriers.
