I am a first class English Literature graduate from the University of Edinburgh. I specialised in American and Irish literature, but my background in my first two years was classic literature. I also took linguistics and literary criticism modules in my third year. I am a passionate and excited teacher who loves to share her love of literature with anyone who might need it!
I have over six years experience teaching young people Shakespeare and I have offered GCSE and A level English help to various family friends. My GCSE and Alevel results for English literature (and language at GCSE) were both A*s/9s. In the Oxford University ELAT exams, i scored 56/60.
My approach is simple, I want my students to have as much fun with literature as they can. We will explore the texts together, think outside the box and then explore the core components of the text. I think its important that a student enjoys the lessons, and until they enjoy the text there isn't much point of approaching any essay questions! I remember how stressful school can be, and no question is ever too much, we will figure it all out together! I'll help my students see the joy in literature, then break down the various factors that make up a text, to prepare them for the exams and beyond!
