I am a highly motivated, articulate and enthusiastic Biomedical Science graduate who is currently studying masters in Clinical Research at Imperial College London. I thrive on working with people as I am a highly competent individual who possess the drive, desire and determination to ensure success. I am very passionate about science and have become proficient in both practical and theory based work, to achieve both academic success and stimulate innovation.
From a young age I have been mentoring and tutoring in science subjects as a volunteer. I have excellent communication skills and can easily connect with students, I find this is particularly important as this helps to identify where the problems in knowledge might be and effectively build on subject understanding. My experience also comes from teaching myself where I have been required to learn great depth of knowledge and have gone through the challenging journey of education, this has made me empathetic towards what students go through in the learning process.
A skill I value most is communication, as listening is key to deliver tailored learning that is effective to the student’s needs. I strongly believe that everyone has a different approach to learning and that there is a method by which an individual learns best. My approach to tutoring would be to tailor the session to each individual to ensure that they learn efficiently and develop confidence in their knowledge. My teaching method is to give good detail of the subject and ''fill in the gaps'' in knowledge to give a strong understanding in the subject so that the student can also develop interest in the subject.
