I recently graduated with a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Oxford and am looking to continue to develop as a mathematics tutor.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored both kids and adults for exam preparation and for interest. I have tutored A level maths and further maths, UKMT challenges, and topics of interest beyond the school curriculum for kids with a passion for maths. I have been self-employed and worked for tutoring companies. I contributed to marking the 2023 MAT (Maths Admissions Test) papers for Oxford University.

Tutoring Approach

I encourage students to get stuck in to a problem and talk me through all their ideas before, if necessary, providing hints or the solution. I feel this empowers students to take charge of their learning and come to me for support if needed rather than being bombarded with information. For students with a love for maths, I find it can be rewarding to take detours and explore concepts they find interesting to push their limits and develop their passion for the subject.
