I’m a Mathematics specialist with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham, complemented by strong A-level and GCSE results. I bring both depth and breadth in mathematical knowledge to my tutoring practice.

Tutoring Experience

I have four years of tutoring experience, primarily focused on A-level and GCSE Mathematics, as well as 11+ preparation. My approach is deeply student-centered, tailoring each lesson to fit the unique learning needs and goals of my students. For instance, I assess whether students need a confidence boost in problem-solving, a stronger focus on correcting mistakes, or more intensive exam practice. Then, I structure lessons to target these specific areas, ensuring that students gain mastery over the entire curriculum and build the skills needed to excel under exam conditions.

One of my most rewarding achievements was helping a student advance from a U to an A in A-level Maths within six months—a journey that underscored my passion for unlocking each student's potential. I genuinely love tutoring because it allows me to make a meaningful impact, guiding students not just academically but also in building self-confidence and resilience. I find great satisfaction in seeing students overcome challenges, gain clarity, and ultimately achieve results they might not have thought possible.

Tutoring Approach

As an A-level Maths tutor, my approach focuses on applying skills in practical contexts, and developing confidence in problem-solving. Lessons begin with an assessment of each student’s current knowledge, identifying strengths and areas that need improvement.

To reinforce learning, I incorporate practice questions and guide students through exam-style problems and advance. I also adapt my teaching to match the student's learning style, breaking down challenging topics like algebra, and trigonometry into manageable steps. Regular feedback and tailored homework help build each student’s capability and confidence in preparation for exams.
