Private Online Maths and Physics Tutor

I have completed my 1st year of Engineering at University of Oxford.
I achieved A*s in Maths and Physics and an A in Further Maths at A levels
I achieved 5 Grade 9 and 5 Grade 8 at GSCE.

While as a kid I've always enjoyed Maths with its problem solving, I had initially been scared of physics during secondary school. However I found a true love and fascination for Physics during my A levels when the concepts were fully explained rather than just trying to memories facts and believe it is the best approach to achieve not only a fuller understanding of the concepts but also to grow an appreciation for the subject.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked at Kumon and have experience in aiding many children who have found difficulties in Maths up to GCSE levels. I have been able to quickly spot the problems in understanding that the children have faced and provide creative solutions for them to get a deeper grasp of the topic and clearing up any doubts.

Tutoring Approach

Initially, we would go over any topics that they are particularly struggling with and could generally go through the syllabus and see if there any problem areas. Otherwise if the student just requires general support, we can follow the syllabus as they will in school.

Then we could go over each topic in detail while the student makes notes and would be encouraged to raise any questions and doubts they may have. We will then work through some questions together to further build on their knowledge and develop exam techniques as it is extremely important to consolidate what we had covered in the rest of the lesson

Students can also send any questions they come across during the week that they are facing any difficulty solving which would be discussed at the beginning of each class

Wherever possible, I will try and bring up real life context for what we are studying in order to help students visualise it easier and apply a context to what is being studied, as it is important to keep them engaged and will help create a relaxed environment where they are encouraged to question.
