QUALIFICATIONS:
As a Tutor and Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, I bring the knowledge and experience of working with a large number of industries, which puts me in a unique position to consult the younger generation for success in their career.
I am calm and friendly and have been working with a very broad range of students nationally and internationally.
I have won and have been nominated a few times for teaching excellence.
My students are all achieving high grades in their GCSE and A-Levels. I have changed students' grades from 3 to 9 and from E to A.
SERVICES:
With over 18 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I have had the privilege of guiding students at all levels, from GCSE and A Levels to the university level. Throughout my journey as an educator, I have witnessed the transformative power of education and the joy of seeing my students flourish.
Here are some highlights of my achievements as a tutor in the last academic year:
• 100% of my tutees improved to their expectations. This shows my commitment to their growth and development.
• 6 of my university students achieved 70% or higher in their maths modules. A number of students passed their resit exams in the summer.
• My A-level students in the last academic year, performed very well and successfully admitted to great universities such as Oxford, King's College, Leeds, Newcastle, Warwick, Nottingham, and Imperial.
• I have actively supported 6 students at GCSE level and we managed to improved their grades by a minimum of three grades. They are now continuing with me for their A-levels.
Here I have highlighted some of my key approaches to teaching:
Student-Centric Approach:
I have worked with students from very diverse backgrounds. I Understand that each student is unique, I tailor my approach to satisfy the learning styles of each individual.
Before we begin our tutorials, I spend some quality time to understand your needs and expectations. By having open conversations with both students and parents, I gain insights and this helps me tailor my teaching style for the best possible outcomes.
Practical and Tangible Examples:
People often ask me what is the application of this or that in my life. I always have millions of examples to give them. I strongly believe that learning is an opportunity to enjoy and becomes effective when students can relate to the subject. Therefore, I always provide practical examples that help complex concepts become more tangible and relatable.
I have had many occassions were parents or my student's friends have joined our sessions and informed me that they learnt things thye have never learnt in their studies :)
Visual Learning Advantage:
Maths and physics could be tough if we can not imagine what is going on.
I use visual examples to help students understand complex ideas with clarity and confidence.
It has proven that my students find it much easier to connect the theories with real-life applications, gaining a deeper understanding of the subject.
Step-by-Step Guidance:
From experience, I understand that complex problems in physics and maths can be hard to dealt with. To help students with these challenges, I show them a structured step-by-step guide to approach problems with confidence.
This approach not only provides them with better understanding but also boosts their confidence and to me this is an important constructive loop.
Patient and Supportive:
I am known for being super-patient with my students' needs. I believe, actively listening and understanding my student's needs , helm me creating a supportive environment where my students can trust me and be themselves and open up. This is very important so I can get to know their weaknesses and work towards improving them.
Flipped Classes for Active Learning:
I often use flipped classes where students explain concepts to me. This approach proved to help with their understanding. You can explain a thing when you completely get it!
I am passionate about empowering students to reach their full potential and not only do great in Physics and Maths but also love the subjects. If you're looking for a tutor who is dedicated and professional but also caring and understanding, I am here to guide you and be on your side.
