I am a highly motivated, positive person with a passion for learning and meeting new people. I am a mother of two boys who are at university. I worked as a computer programmer on graduation from university, then as a piano teacher while my children were growing up and decided to study law when my children were at primary school. I am now working part time as a commercial/corporate solicitor.
I decided to do the TEFL course this year because teaching English as a foreign language appeals to me in many ways. I am multi-lingual, from a culturally diverse background, have a passion for languages and enjoy teaching others new skills.
I have informal language teaching experience and am currently building up my portfolio.
I adopt a step-by-step approach to ensure students understand meaning first. My lessons involve plenty of reading, listening and speaking practice. My lessons are stimulating but not overwhelming. I can tailor my lessons to suit the student if there are particular needs, e.g. business language.
