I am a qualified teacher who is passionate about furthering the academic and social development of young people. Prior to teaching in the formal education sector, I have worked with young people in various roles, including being a youth mentor, an English tutor, a literacy support worker and a freelance teacher of creative writing and song writing.
I try to utilise of my knowledge of different learning styles to make each lesson as bespoke as possible and tailor it to the individual needs of each learner. I provide my students with essential study and exam techniques and give them strategies about how to organise their revision materials and resources. I encourage my students to set regular and realistic learning goals and I guide them while they track and monitor their own progress. I try to maintain a light and relaxed atmosphere during a lesson, to ensure that tutees are engaged and the learning is made enjoyable for them.
