My name is Amber and I have been working in primary education for the past 6 years. I am moving away from classroom teaching, but I would like to offer my services via private tuition. During the current COVID-19 crisis, I will be offering sessions online.
From 2014-2016, I worked full time as a Graduate Tutor in an 'Outstanding' primary school. I carried out 1:1 and small group interventions, covered classes for the teachers and planned my intervention lessons. In September 2016, I completed a Schools Direct training programme, teaching full time whilst earning my formal qualification. For the past 3 years, I have been employed as a fully qualified primary school teacher, specialising in Lower Key Stage 2. However, it is worth noting that I have experience of working alongside Year 5 & 6 and Year 2, also.
Teaching is based on mutual respect and understanding the needs of my pupils. Before beginning tuition, I would conduct a baseline assessment to discover strengths and areas for improvement. Teaching is a balancing act of having strong relationships and a rapport with pupils as well as maintaining a position of authority and trust. I am meticulously organised and ensure all lessons are planned and resourced. The sessions would also be guided by the pupil's interests and needs.
