II have an interest in both human and physical geography having completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh, which is centred around both fields. Following this, I became a secondary school teacher, and then Head of Department where my love for geography could be shared with those in my classes. I also found joy in private tutoring where clients are often the most keen to learn and improve their geographical skills, something I am able to help with by use of extended writing practice, exam technique and encouraging pupils to think, 'like a geographer'.

Tutoring Experience

Having trained with TeachFirst from 2021 onwards, I developed a resilience in teaching various challenges in the setting of a North London Secondary School. I taught KS3-5 classes from day one of my career and gained Pearson Young Teacher of the Year commendation in 2023. I became Head of Geography in that same year. In my role I designed schemes of work, trips, careers and university-related geography programmes for the school. I also completed a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at this same time and tutored both within and outside of school. I have tutored various size groups from individual clients to small groups and found both equally fulfillling. While I specialise in Edexcel courses, I am comfortable with teaching outside of this exam board.

Tutoring Approach

I take a student-centred approach and will create an individual programme of learning based on student needs. I retain extremely high expectations of all students and wish to push them well beyond their target grades. I have much experience in both special educational needs, literacy and supporting various neurodivergent challenges and am more than happy to accommodate a variety of learning needs to help students as best as possible.
