I have taught A-Level Art History for 7+ years.
I graduated with a 2.1 in Art History and English Literature from the University of Exeter. I tailor my lessons to student's needs and identify areas that need further strengthening. For Art History, I typically divide my lessons into the areas of Visual Analysis technique and Historical Context to ensure that students have an in depth understanding and ability to write on both in examinations. I teach key works across painting, scultpure and architecture in the periods of Greek and Roman art, Early and Late Renaissance, 19th century, early modern and contemporary. For English Literature and Language tutoring I focus on identifying areas of strength and weakness in subject knowledge across textual analysis, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, creative writing. I have in depth knowledge of the exam board of AQA and Edexcel and key texts on the syllabus in poetry, prose and drama. For Drama tutoring, I bring my professional industry experience as a working theatre director to help students strengthen their ability to analyse and write about plays, engage with different theatre-making and devising techniques, and work on performance in both vocal and physical methods. A typical lesson can range between 1 and 2 hours. I also offer intensive sessions closer to exam seasons to strengthen technique.
