Private History Tutor in Glasgow

Hi there! My name is Andrew and I am a secondary school history teacher. I have taught at all levels, and have lots of experience with marking papers to the SQA standard. If you wish to prepare for prelims or just supplement your learning from school, I will construct a learning plan around what you need to develop so that you are happy and confident with the work we produce!
I am 28 years old with a bank of knowledge from teaching people with additional support needs, so if you don’t work well with a normal classroom approach, we can work together with your strengths and weaknesses to come up with a system that is right for you. I am based in the Glasgow area and happy to discuss further travel subject to supplementation, or to continue over an online format. Any further questions, don’t hesitate to send me an email or a text on my contact information.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching history in secondary schools since the lockdown, and through graduating from one of the most prestigious teaching universities in the country I have honed my experience to not only supplement learning effectively but to work within the school system to know what is upcoming and to prepare effectively for my student’s areas of development. Alongside my mainstream teaching career I have also become fluent in a multitude of additional support needs and communication services to allow for pupils with complex needs to still access the curriculum regardless of a disability.

Tutoring Approach

Being a young teacher ensures that I can relate to my students and be able to work with their strengths and weaknesses without looking like an intimidating adult. Through our personal Google classroom, my pupils have access to extra work and review my own personal PowerPoints to review certain sections in their own time and not simply reliant on our sessions. Within our sessions areas of struggle will be identified, either with content or skills, and an action plan will be constructed in how we can better strengthen this area. I have yet to encounter a pupil that has not increased by a minimum of a grade due to supplementation with tutoring.
