My experience in providing education in Science ranges from University Undergraduate level to Y7 science over a period of forty years. I have been a Head of Science in both the Maintained and Private Sectors. I now teach part time at Norwich High School for Girls where I was Head of the Science Faculty for twenty five years. I have a PhD in Biochemistry, a degree in Biology from Kings College London and a PGCE Certificate in Education. My Police check, Safeguarding and Prevention certifications are up to date.
My teaching experience is extensive. I have taught KS3 ages 11 to 14 Science, KS4 ages 14 to 16 GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and A level Biology. As a sixth form tutor I have also guided A level students in writing their UCAS applications. Recently I have had the time to enjoy private tutoring with great success. This has enabled my students to reach their full potential and obtain the grades they required to progress to the next level of their chosen studies.
Initially I will find out the areas of study requiring help, plan a way forward and then prepare my students for their tests and examinations. I prefer to teach students on a one to one basis and will also tutor a few friends together. I am happy to teach in my own home but prefer to teach at the students house where parents may wish to listen in to the lessons.
