I am an award winning scientist with a PhD in chemistry, years of industrial experience and 15 years of experience tutoring GCSE maths and science and A Level chemistry. I was also an examiner, so can offer the best tips in exam practice and achieving your fullest potential.

I have also taught English as foreign language in Istanbul and have tutored English GCSE (literature and language). I have supervised university students in mechanical and chemical engineering labs which included teaching them and marking their coursework.

I am patient, kind, and supportive while still maintaining high standards for learning. I believe the gift of education is the greatest gift you can give your child.

Tutoring Approach

My lessons start with a brief student lead discussion where I assess their understanding of the topic.

I will then work with the student to increase their knowledge using diagrams, equations, videos, games and questions.

I present the material in a coherent, easy to digest format where I am regularly questioning the student to ensure my explanations are making sense and being received well. I change up my style to best fit the student’s preferred learning.

I offer my students many opportunities to ask questions, and I make it clear to them that they can always ask for help or simply say that they do not understand. That I am here to help them specifically in any way they need.

Finally, the last portion of the lesson is spent on exam questions to make sure my students are comfortable with the topic and can demonstrate their knowledge confidently during exam time.
