I am a graduate of medical sciences from Exeter University, and a masters of public health holder from university of Aberdeen. I have done science and math all my life and I hope I can pass some of my knowledge onto you.
I have been tutoring for about 8 years and have successfully taken students of varying age groups through their exams.
I have experience working with the Edexcel GCSE and IGCSE curriculum as well as AQA and OCR.
I have also taught in a primary school for two years alongside my tutoring
The structure of the lesson depends on what the pupil wants. Some students like to have someone to go through papers with them while others want to discuss specific topics. Unless a student has specific topics they want to go over, a past question paper is given before the first session to assess the student's current level and any difficulties they may have. The results of this paper will determine the first topic that is looked at. Homework will be regularly given to ensure that whatever is discussed in class can be done at home in private. This worked will be marked and feedback will be given.
In order for students to achieve their goals, the have to work with a tutor that can explain the information that have to retain in a way they can assimilate it. As i have worked with children from 18 months to 18 years, I believe that i have the experience to achieve this
Progress will be measured by doing little quizzes after each topic and doing past question papers. It is important for a pupil to see progress. This encourages the pupil and builds their enthusiasm to continue learning and working hard.
