Anna

My name is Anna and I am a tutor based in the Sutton Coldfield, Streetly, Erdington area. I love reading and exploring the world - there is always something new to learn! I have 2 children who are both at a local secondary school and who have both benefited from the experience of 1 to 1 tutoring.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a primary school teacher for over 25 years and have worked across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I began tutoring in English and maths, after seeing the difference it has made to my own children's confidence and academic performance. I have found that i thoroughly enjoy working 1 to 1 with children, giving them the opportunity, confidence and space to develop their understanding, skills and a love of learning. I have also supported children in preparing for the 11+entrance exams.

Tutoring Approach

In partnership with parents, I identify key areas to be worked upon. I work hard to build positive relationships so that the child feels confident to ask what they may think are the 'silly questions' ( there are definitely no silly questions!!!!!!) Through modelling, practical activities and repeated rehearsal i ensure that children have a real understanding of those key focus areas, which will support their learning within school.
