Hello! I am an experienced tutor who loves helping students to be ambitious, creative and empowered. I have a First-Class degree from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Composition. I am also a published short story author. I specialise in Music as a professional composer, but also have a great track record of teaching Maths and English, subjects which have close relations to music in themselves. I have 11 GCSEs at A* including Maths and English, and 5 A-levels at A and A* including Maths and Physics.

Tutoring Approach

I put my students' individual strengths at the heart of my teaching approach.
Essay writing is one of my great strengths, and I encourage students to find their own viewpoint and argument within a subject.
Within Mathematics, I work with creativity and visual images, and I believe in fully understanding the subject rather than simply memorising it.
As a musician, I have had my own journey through areas in which I am more and less naturally talented, and am passionate about working with every student of any age or level to persevere with all aspects of music as well as finding their own voice. I have dedicated my life to music, both as a professional and as a teacher.
