Hi there, I am from Ireland and have been living in the UK for 20 years now! I love imparting knowledge as a teacher but also as a mum! I find it so rewarding when somebody has understood a method I have used with them and prefers to use it in the future. One example is a Year 5 pupil I tutor now uses the grid method for multiplication as she struggled with the column method. I tutor children, teenagers and adults mainly English, including English as a Foreign Language, Maths and Science but also Spanish, German, and French, all up to GCSE level but I can teach Spanish up to A-level.

Tutoring Experience

I have 20 years teaching experience at Secondary school level teaching mainly English, including English as a Foreign Language, Maths, Spanish, German, and French. all up to GCSE level but I can teach Spanish up to A-level. Currently I am tutoring SEND children face-to-face and teaching some adults online.

Tutoring Approach

I like to teach according to the needs of the student whatever their needs may be. It is of vital importance for progression; to differentiate the activities to cater for their learning. I can use visual aids, videos, podcasts and online exercises to help transfer knowledge whichever the pupil prefers. I use Open Board, a remote whiteboard to demonstrate a mathematical method or an introduction to an essay or a flip chart or min whiteboard when teaching face-to-face.
