With a passion for travel, sports, politics, and history, I have always believed that learning about different cultures and perspectives is essential to personal growth. Having lived in multiple countries throughout my life, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing diverse communities, which has inspired my passion for language acquisition. My time studying abroad in Spain and Mexico further deepened my understanding of the value of communication across borders, because knowing a language helps us to understand culture and build connections across borders.
I am currently taking a gap year to gain teaching experience before doing a postgraduate degree to pursue my goal of becoming an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, driven by the belief that mastering a new language can open doors to opportunities and foster connections between people from different backgrounds. Language is more than just a tool for communication—it’s a key to understanding culture, identity, and global perspectives.
I have volunteered as an ESOL assistant for a London charity for 3 months.
As a tutor, I aim to create a learning environment that is both engaging and culturally enriching, helping students not only acquire language skills but also explore the wider world. I believe it's important to be engaging in tutoring but to also listen to the needs of the student so they can learn in a way that is conducive to retaining information. I look forward to supporting my students on their language learning journey and sharing my love for global experiences along the way.
