I've been involved in classroom teaching for 10 years, in computing as an IT consultant for a further 20 years, and now again, as a Primary teacher and tutor for the past 10 years.
In my spare time:
I have been a member of a gym for the last 20 years and try and go at least three times a week, often with a personal trainer. In addition, I enjoy badminton, walking, visiting National Trust properties, gardening and scuba diving
On a more sedate level, I enjoy reading, watching historical documentaries, playing games such as Canasta and Backgammon with friends and family, and keeping abreast of Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
As a person, I am extremely calm, patient, sociable and organised.

Tutoring Experience

During my first period of teaching, I found myself getting involved in technology and programming, and after eight years in the classroom, I took a retraining course. I became an IT trainer and then a consultant. I worked with a number of global companies, travelling extensively, and helped set up a helpdesk based in Malaysia, providing worldwide support.
After 20 years in IT, I returned to teaching and have taught in various capacities for the past 15 years, specialising in computing and maths. I have also been delivering private sessions for all levels of GCSE maths.

Tutoring Approach

As a teacher, I have strived to be an inspirational teacher, ensuring lessons are meticulously planned, fully prepared, and professionally delivered.
As a tutor, I try and replicate this approach and ensure the sessions are as enjoyable, fun, productive and stress-free as possible.
Whilst I deliver GCSE "revision" sessions for those students that need this, the vast majority of my students remain with me throughout their schooling, many starting in Primary and continuing through to Year 11 GCSEs.
