I'm someone who genuinely enjoys the process of learning and helping others find that same enjoyment in their studies, especially with math. Growing up, I remember how challenging math could feel until something would “click,” and that's a feeling I love to help others experience.

For the past two years, I’ve been tutoring students in math, and it's been incredibly rewarding to see them grow in confidence and start to tackle problems on their own. I believe that everyone learns a little differently, so I focus on making my sessions engaging, flexible, and approachable, whether we're working through tricky problems or just reviewing basics. Beyond academics, I’m a big fan of puzzles, which keeps me sharp and brings some of that playful curiosity into my tutoring.

My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but also to help them see math in a new light and build the kind of confidence that translates beyond the classroom.

Tutoring Experience

I have two years of experience as a math tutor, working with students across various levels, primarily in GCSE level and below. I am very familiar with edexcel maths GCSE course at both higher and foundation level. Throughout this time, I've had the opportunity to work one-on-one and in small groups, tailoring my approach to fit each student's unique learning style and pace. My sessions focus on building a solid understanding of key concepts, which I reinforce through practice and interactive problem-solving. I’ve found that creating a supportive and engaging environment not only improves performance but also helps students develop a positive relationship with math. Additionally, my background in Economics and Politics has given me a broader perspective, allowing me to connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications, making learning more relevant and interesting for my students.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach centers around understanding each student’s unique learning style and adapting my methods to make math engaging, clear, and accessible. I start by assessing where the student feels confident and where they might be struggling. This helps me tailor each session to focus on their specific needs, breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps.

I emphasize active learning, encouraging students to work through problems with guidance rather than just providing answers. This helps them develop critical thinking skills and gain confidence in tackling similar challenges on their own. I like to incorporate real-world examples when possible, making abstract concepts more relatable and showing students how math connects to everyday life.

Patience and encouragement are central to my sessions, as I believe a positive, supportive environment helps students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, both of which are essential for growth. My goal is not only to help students improve their math skills but also to foster a sense of confidence and curiosity that will serve them well beyond our lessons.
