I am a dedicated and compassionate educator with over 10 years of experience, committed to helping students achieve their full potential. My teaching philosophy is simple: “If you don’t understand, it’s my fault.” This mindset drives me to continually adapt and tailor my approach to ensure every student succeeds.
I specialise in both academic support and pastoral care, believing that students thrive when they feel understood and supported on all levels. Outside of the classroom, I have a deep love for art, football, and British comedy. I believe in maintaining a sense of fun and silliness while still upholding the highest professional standards.
For the past 9 years, I have taught Health and Social Care, Child Development, and Citizenship at a secondary school in North London. In that time, every one of my students has either met or exceeded their target grades, and I’m determined to continue that track record of success.
I have had the privilege of teaching at two dynamic schools over the past 10 years, each providing me with unique opportunities to grow as an educator and make a meaningful impact on my students' lives.
Secondary School in East London:
During my time in East London, I taught citizenship and philosophy and ethics, where I developed a deep understanding of diverse student needs and created a supportive, engaging environment for students from various backgrounds. I focused on not just academic success, but also nurturing emotional growth and resilience. My students consistently achieved excellent results, and many exceeded their target grades.
Secondary School in North London (current position):
For the past 9 years, I have been teaching at a secondary school in North London, specialising in Health and Social Care, Child Development, and Citizenship. In this role, I’ve continued to build on my passion for student success, using innovative teaching methods and personalised support to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive. My commitment to excellence has led to 100% of my students meeting or surpassing their target grades, and I am proud of the strong relationships I’ve built with both students and staff.
I believe that every student is unique and requires a tailored approach to learning. My teaching philosophy is rooted in a deep sense of care, and I aim to create a supportive, inclusive environment where all students feel valued and understood. I draw on a wide range of pedagogical theories, including differentiated instruction, constructivism, and socio-cultural theory, to cater to the individual needs of each student.
I recognise that students learn in different ways, and therefore, I adapt my teaching methods to suit their preferred learning styles. Whether through hands-on activities, collaborative learning, or more traditional methods, I am committed to finding the best way to engage each student and help them succeed.
I also place a strong emphasis on building a positive rapport with my students. I believe that when students feel supported and respected, they are more confident to take risks in their learning. As a result, I encourage open communication, foster a growth mindset, and always aim to be approachable and patient.
Ultimately, my goal is not only to help students achieve their academic targets but to nurture their personal growth, building their confidence and resilience for future challenges.
