I am 53yrs old, I have a husband of 22 years and 3 daughters aged 21, 20 and 17yrs. My hobbies include walking my dog, reading and going to the gym. I love travelling and taught abroad for many years before returning home; I taught in Cairo, Malawi, Beijing and Brunei. I enjoy DIY and have extensively undertaken a variety of home improvements in my home.
I am qualified to teach children of all ages. I taught primary aged children for 17 years and
Senior school children for 8 years. I am currently teaching literacy in a school with a specialism in grammar, punctuation, reading recovery and comprehension. I also work with students individually in school and provide bespoke intervention programmes for them. Ofsted observed me teaching recently and were very complimentary. I have taught since I graduated as a mature student in 1999.
Firstly, I identify what a student's needs are and then provide a very personal bespoke programme for them. I continually assess each student's progress and adapt lessons accordingly. I have high standards and pay attention to the smallest of details. Data has shown that that the groups and individuals that I have worked with have made significant progress as a direct result from my teaching.
