I am a fully qualified, experienced and reliable secondary school maths teacher. I enjoy teaching and have a patient and caring approach. My aim is to help pupils make excellent progress, become confident and achieve excellent results. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in maths, Post graduate diploma in Education as well as a Master’s degree.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 20 years of experience in tutoring and lecturing maths up to undergraduate level with excellent results. As well as one-to-one and group tutoring, I also have maths teaching experience in working in mainstream and SEN schools.

Tutoring Approach

I plan my lessons and set homework carefully and try my best to tailor them to develop students’ individual abilities. I often help students to develop their problem solving skills, as the new GCSE exams have an increased emphasis on this area. I use worksheets and past papers to give students lots of practice in order to improve their exam techniques. I assess my students regularly and provide feedback to parents about pupils’ progress after each lesson.

Currently I offer tuition online and in-person from year 5 to GCSE/IGCSE level.

My online lessons are delivered using an easy to use interactive whiteboard, where you can talk, sketch and share resources in real-time across devices without needing to download anything. The whiteboard content is saved after the lesson allowing students to review the lesson and complete their homework in their own time.

Over the past 20 years I have helped students with different ability levels to reach their full potential exceeding their age group expectations. I have supported many SEN pupils who are finding maths challenging to achieve their learning goals.
