Hi, and thanks for checking my profile. My name is Brodie and I am a Maths teacher who really enjoys helping students to understand the fundamentals of the subject, and to extend their learning up and beyond their personal expectations. One of my strengths is that I realise not everyone thinks like a mathematician and I adapt my approach accordingly to maximise results. I am a relaxed and patient person who gets the best from my students.
I have been teaching since 2011, and worked with all grades and abilities of student. I teach the UK GCSE Maths syllabus, but have also taught Functional Skills; FSMQ (Free standing Maths Qualification) and Statistics.
I teach using ZOOM very effectively. My approach does depend on what works best for the individual student, but generally I run relaxed sessions that stay on track to achieve the set goal. I have been teaching my school classes via zoom during lockdown, using a virtual whiteboard and this approach has proved very effective. I relate maths to the real world, which is an eye opener for many students - especially algebra. I have several ways of addressing topics depending on what the student relates to, and use the most effective method.
