Hi,
I am a keen Primary Teacher who has worked in schools across East Ayrshire. I live locally and enjoy teaching a range of different subjects within my class. I hope that with my experience and enthusiasm for teaching I will be able to make a meaningful and positive impact on each child’s education.
I have taught for 8 years, going on 9, across all primary stages. Some of which classes have been composites with a range of different needs and strengths.
My tutoring experiences include tailored approaches for children’s different learning styles, drawing upon their interests and supporting areas for development.
During my studies, I also spent 4 years working with the National Autistic Society where I developed a strong understanding of Autism. Along with my teaching experience, I have developed a sound knowledge of working with children who have additional needs including ADHD, social, emotional and behaviour difficulties, speech and language difficulties and many others. I am part of the Dyslexia Friendly Community Group at my current school and have been part of the key team to achieve the ‘Silver Accreditation’ within East Ayrshire.
Building a positive relationship with the children I am teaching is a key part of my approach. By doing so I am able to tailor contexts to meet children’s interests which encourages them to fully engage in my lessons.
I enjoy teaching using a range of different pedagogies and resources. Much of my teaching and activities are based on active and fun approaches in order for children to enjoy their learning.
