Home Tuition for Maths and Geography in Stamford

I am a highly driven 27 year old Law graduate who is currently working as a Paralegal after a career in teaching Secondary Geography. I have experience with children of all ages (primary and secondary) and am now a Mum to my baby boy. I am also an ex-international lightweight rower and therefore have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the different processes of how to achieve the goals set.

Tutoring Experience

Whilst studying for my PGCE and QTS in Secondary Geography, I taught full time in a private Grammar school. I taught secondary geography (ages 11-18), whilst also carrying out the role of a year 7 form tutor. I, therefore, have a good experience of offering support and teaching children of all ages. I also have experience with primary ages due to helping the younger ones during 'key worker' sessions at school during the COVID pandemic.

I am currently working in a law form as a Paralegal, after completing my Law degree with the University of Leicester, graduating with a 2:1 in Summer 2019.

Tutoring Approach

Due to my past involvement in high performance sport, I am a driven and motivated individual who aims to instil those qualities into a student so that they can achieve the best outcome possible in their subject of choice. I have experience in setting realistic stepping stones to make sure that the final goal is broken down into stages, hence appearing more manageable for the student to achieve their final outcome.

I believe this step-by-step approach allows students to enjoy the learning process by feeling they gain something from each point of the learning process. This may include the realisation that they are capable and can achieve the correct answers, therefore gaining confidence in their subject; or rather that they have arrived at the wrong answer but have learnt from their error and now know what method to take to gain the correct answer.
