I have been teaching for twenty years for Kingston Education Authority, in primary schools in Surbiton and Chessington. It is a privilege to know how our children learn and grasp new concepts. I value the strong relationships I have with children and their families and it is with real joy when I see the goals they have reached. Recently we have moved to Chichester, so I am now looking forward to teaching new children in fun and engaging lessons so that they are able to reach their full potential.
I am an Assistant Headteacher that has taught in all year groups EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I am a very experienced teacher, leader and manager of KS1, championing effective teaching and learning. I understand what children need to learn in preparation for year 2/year 6 SATs, multiplication test year 4, or phonic screening in year 1. I have taught 1:1 to fill any gaps children may have or to ensure they make fast progress where needed. I have a vast experience of working with special educational needs and disabilities, working with families and their own teachers in order to understand how we can best support the individual needs of the child. For ten years I have been maths leader, developing Maths Mastery and supporting children who just find maths difficult. I can provide progressive, dynamic and relevant sessions across all primary subjects.
My aim is to support the needs of your child by learning through a fun, vibrant, engaging and relevant curriculum using practical resources and experiences to develop understanding. The 'best experiences' children will tell you they have had at school are usually from a practical activity or by a local visit and I look forward to knowing your child's personal interests as a way of ensuring they also are successful learners. In the current climate I am able to support your child with home learning so that they will know more, remember more and do more in preparation for their next stage in education. The sessions can be matched to support your child's needs, whether to individually help them further with online learning set by school, building confidence in a particular subject/area, preparing for SAT's or supporting an individual learning style. The aim is to develop confident individuals, that have an understanding of how to be successful learners and a love of learning.
