Hi, I'm a fully qualified teacher of Mathematics and first started teaching in 1999. I am extremely passionate about my subject and love to help others achieve success in it. I enjoy travel, learning languages and helping others. Thoroughly enjoyed volunteering in Costa Rica which was a fun way to improve my Spanish..
I have been tutoring since 1999 alongside teaching and other roles in education, though I am new to the online teaching. I have worked with he four main exam boards, Pearson, AQA, OCR and WJEC Whilst I enjoy the classroom, I love the tutoring and get great satisfaction seeing the light bulb moments when a pupils says, "Ah I get it now, that's easy!" Job satisfaction at its best. Although I have taught up to and including A level, I have tutored pupils at degree level, helping with the maths in other degree subjects too. I have friends who I've tutored along the way (as adults) who still tell me how grateful they are for the tuition they had to get them through their exams.
My first step, particularly with students who have exams around the corner is to discover their strengths and those areas that we need to improve upon and build confidence with. For tutoring, I have no standard lessons as each student is different and I will tailor to each individual.my sessions. Maths - get rid of the taboo,, yes you can do it!
