I am a fully qualified English teacher and experienced examiner at KS4 and KS5. My last teaching post was part time in a school classed as 'outstanding'. I enjoy working with young people and am passionate about my subject.
Tutoring Experience
I have had over twenty years teaching experience in a variety of educational settings. Whilst I was working full time, I was head of a large successful English Department in a local high school. Tutoring now keeps me very busy and it is something I really enjoy.
Tutoring Approach
I like to tailor my lessons to suit the needs of my individual students. I love to spend time preparing resources to stimulate interest and engagement. I aim to ensure my students have the skills, knowledge and confidence to achieve their true potential. I have found the insight I have gained as an examiner an invaluable tool in focusing my teaching and boosting results. This all sounds very serious and I remain aware that fun is important factor in any learning environment!
