I changed career at the age of 42 from an electronic engineer to what I call a Maths Fun Crusader after I felt compelled to help solve the problem of learners that struggle with and worse, hate maths.
As a child, I struggled with maths and yet I still enjoyed it. I knew that was the key and I have dedicated my life to help children with maths ever since.
I started teaching maths as a "Maths Fun" facilitator in 2005 and have created many workshops, shows and resources and presented to over 200,000 learners since then. I have tutored several children since Covid hit us and it has been heartening to make a difference to children and families that were struggling.
I am NOT a qualified teacher. I am PASSIONATE about empowering children to love learning and enjoy mathematics.
My method (The Bubbly Maths Way) is based on facilitating the learning of mathematics through enjoyment with hands on experience and helping realisations happen as opposed to explanations.
The Bubbly Maths Way, which trains children to be independent learners, which has given Leon more confidence in what he believes he's capable of doing in maths.
As long as I can help a learner experience enjoyment of maths, they can be open to learn it, even if it takes time for ideas to sink in and it can take time, months even, but once the penny starts to drop, it's wonderful at how quickly other areas click into place.
