I am a qualified and experienced Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics teacher. I am a friendly tutor who thinks that learning can and should be enjoyable! I have a real passion for my subject area and love having the opportunity to teach on a one-to-one basis.

I am lucky to balance teaching with my young family, so weekend tuition would suit me best, although I could possibly arrange for evening tuition if the location is close by. I am happy to travel to you or carry out sessions online.

Tutoring Experience

I have 15 years experience teaching both GCSE and A-Level Philosophy and Ethics. I also have experience as a private tutor for GCSE, AS and A2 students and home-schooled students taking their Religious Studies GCSE early. All students in the past have gained A*- B grades.
I am familiar with the GCSE (OCR, Edexcel and AQA) courses, as well as AS and A2 (OCR and Edexcel) Philosophy and Ethics .
I am also familiar with the Edexcel iGCSE.
My specialist religions within the GCSE courses are Christianity, Islam and Hinduism.

I have helped many students who needed to re-sit papers in order to improve their grades for their university entrance, working closely on exam technique, and have worked with students to submit Centre Assessed Grades during the exam cancellations.

I have previously examined for Edexcel (GCSE) and AQA (GCSE).

Tutoring Approach

I believe that the student should decide upon the approach, but more than anything learning should be enjoyable. I am a big believer in colourful diagrams and a variety of activities in learning, but lots of practice questions also mean students are comfortable in the final examination and know how to wow the examiner with their knowledge and ability. I believe that it is this thorough preparation which has led some of my students at GCSE and A Level to gain 100% in examinations.

I have worked with some students to help them to feel more confident in their knowledge through revision activities, and have also provided one-to-one feedback online to students who have focused on practice questions.
