I am married and I am a Christian. I love being outside and especially in my garden growing plants and vegetables. I read lots of books and enjoy being part of my community.
I have taught since 1996 in a variety of schools including nine years in SEN schools. For the last nine years, I have been a supply teacher but mainly doing short term contracts and maternity covers. Recently, I have taught a Y1 and Y4 class and lots of intervention groups for Maths and English from Y1-Y6. I love working with primary age children and especially when they grasp a concept that they have been struggling with and they suddenly understand it.
I have been told by many colleagues that I am 'firm but fair'. I like to think that I am fair to all children but I expect them to work and behave as well. I have been told that my classroom is always calm and well organised and this makes a good environment for learning. Most of all, I want to make learning fun and sometimes the current curriculum does lack any creativity or fun!
