Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified teacher with over 5 years of teaching experience in secondary schools as well as over 10 years private tutoring. I currently work all across the age range from 11 to 18, and have achieved outstanding sets of results from my year 11 and 12 classes. In my previous year 11 class I gained all A* to C grades from my class, with 19 A grades.

I have now been tutoring for over 10 years and have a good list of satisfied tutees. In 2015 both of my A level tutees gained the University of their choice, one of whom will be attending Cambridge in September (gaining an A* in maths!)
In 2018 I had two Foundation level students who were eager to pass their GCSE for entry into college. They both passed with flying colours.

In 2020 I had two students retaking their GCSE qualification. One of them passed from a grade 2 a 4 with only 3 months of tutoring! What an achievement.
2022 has been particularly busy with several year 11s sitting their exams this summer. I look forward to hearing their results in August.

My fees from September 2024 will be £40 for a 45 minute session. I tend to find that students tend to like the slightly shorter session than one hour so have adapted accordingly.

Tutoring Approach

I am passionate about maths and like to relate this to my students. I try to make maths interesting and fun, as I know many pupils find maths a daunting and often boring prospect. I enjoy using stories and analogies to engage and inspire. I believe maths is almost always practice makes perfect and that students must spend time alone on topics as well as with me to fully grasp difficult material.
