I am a committed MFL teacher with a passion for education. I qualified in July 2022 with QTS and PGCE, and I'm due to enter my third year of teaching. I work as a teacher at a secondary school in Surrey where I teach Spanish and French at key stages 3 & 4.

Tutoring Experience

I am a highly skilled linguist. I have a BA Hons degree in Spanish and French. Since graduating over 20 years ago, I have worked predominantly in travel and tourism giving me the opportunity to live and work overseas and use my language skills. I am now offering my services as a Language Tutor as I wish to use my knowledge and experience to develop and inspire others.

I have worked hard over the past 2 years to develop my teaching practice. I am confident teaching Spanish and French at key stages 3 & 4 and have taught successfully across the ability range by maintaining high standards of behaviour and establishing a purposeful working atmosphere. I have also gained valuable experience of marking mock GCSE exam papers and carrying out GCSE speaking exams.

Tutoring Approach

As a teacher, I am highly organised and plan lessons effectively ensuring that they contain the key elements and there is a clear objective with relevant activities that are accessible to all students. I am also positive, enthusiastic and incorporate activities that are engaging and fun to foster a love of learning.

I have a background in project management and training, many of the skills that I used to lead cross functional teams to deliver project outcomes, I use in the classroom to enable students to learn. I have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I am also able to create a supportive, empowering environment in which students are comfortable with challenging themselves, making mistakes and learning from them enabling them to develop and be the best they can be.

As a tutor, I offer a tailored approach depending on the needs and learning style of the student, helping them to improve their language skills or prepare for an exam.
