Hello, I'm Chloë! I'm a University of Oxford graduate in English and Modern Languages (French) with an MA from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Text and Performance; I'm committed to making academic achievement a possibility and the enjoyment of learning a priority. As a tutor, I am creative, dynamic and proactive and love making the process of learning as engaging and comfortable as it can be for my students! I adapt my approach to my students to encourage them to surpass their own expectations. I have an Enhanced DBS and certification of having completed the NSPCC's safeguarding course "Child Protection for Tutors".

Tutoring Experience

I have many years of experience as a private tutor and have supported students preparing for Y6 SATs, 11+ entrance exams, GSCEs, and A-Level exams. I take pride in my work tutoring young people and have privately tutored students ages 6-19. I also have many years of classroom experience in primary and secondary school settings working with children with a diverse range of access requirements and additional support needs.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that the role of a tutor is to make learning an empowering process. I encourage my students to think creatively, blending core curriculum requirements with imaginative, thought-provoking exercises and tasks which correspond to my students' strengths and wider interests. I deliver high-energy, interactive classes and support students between classes by preparing homework tasks and marking additional work. As a more personal touch, I write weekly/fortnightly/monthly reports - for both students and parents - to track progress and celebrate achievements. Communication is key and I prioritise delivering a friendly, open and sincere channel of communication between myself, my students and their parents.
