I have been a professional musician for many years. On stage and screen, I have worked with many artists worldwide, and have built a reputation in the music industry; not only as a keyboard player but also as a songwriter, behind the mixing desk as a sound engineer and record producer.
I have had many years’ experience as a professional musician, producer, and teacher. I have performed as Pianist and keyboard player for such people as Barbara Dickson, Gloria Gaynor, and T’Pau. I have also owned a professional recording studio and record label; so have experience covering all aspects of the music business.
I currently work with several bands, covering a wide range of musical styles; including jazz, blues, soul and popular music, and am musical director and pianist for my own band.
I teach all styles of music: from Classical to Boogie, blues, jazz and popular music. All lessons are tailored to suit the individual student; always with the emphasis on enjoying the diversity of one of the most remarkable human skills; Making Music.........
Whether you are looking for lessons for your child, or want to learn yourself, you have come to the right place!
I tailor individual lessons to suit your needs. I teach children from the age of five, and as it is literally “never too late to learn”, I have as many adult students who are either starting right from the beginning or who wish to continue the lessons they had as a child.
I will guide you through the mysteries of reading music and help you to become a true musician, with a repertoire covering a wide range of styles and compositions.
I also use computer programs and games to keep things interesting. Learning an instrument should be fun, and I believe that this is the key to success.
As you progress, you will be given the opportunity to specialise in Classical or Jazz piano; although a bit of both is highly recommended!
I prepare and enter students for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity examinations in Classical, Jazz and Theory. My students consistently receive very good results, (100% pass rate!) with an average of over 60% of passes at merit or distinction level.
