Greetings!
I am an experienced primary teacher able to support children with English and Maths.

Tutoring Experience

I have more than 12 years of Primary school teaching experience, having taught across all year groups from Nursery to year 6. I have also received specialist training in Reading Recovery, which has been used to support children struggling with reading and writing. I currently work as a long term supply teacher, usually covering maternity or other long term leave. I have worked with children with special educational needs and disabilities and with a variety of achievement levels.

Tutoring Approach

I will make initial assessments of the tutees abilities and note the areas where there are gaps in knowledge or missing skills. This information would then be used to plan learning experiences for the child concerned to build their confidence in those areas, supporting, as far as possible, the learning that is taking place in school. I very much value and allow for different learning styles and encourage children to be active learners.
