I have had an enjoyable career in teaching for the last 25 years. I have enjoyed meeting various students and helping them achieve their dreams of academic success. I own a property rental portfolio business and have also worked in various areas of the private sector including Elvis Presley Enterprises (USA), Polish Airlines (London) and Yokosuka High School (Japan). I often bring these experiences to support the theories taught and have found that this helps students remember the lesson content.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for over 20 years. This includes teaching English language in Japan for 6 years at a private college and a high school. Since 2004 I have worked at an independent college in the UK where I have taught GCSE level Business Studies. This has been taught on a group and individual basis. My results for the summer examinations of 2024 were 24/28 students achieved a pass grade or higher. I have also taught a university foundation programme which involved preparing the course along with marking examinations for students aged 16-18 years old.

Tutoring Approach

I am a communicative individual who believes that the most important goal for a tutor is to give confidence to a student and that with determination, exams are not impossible to pass and with dedication high grades can be achieved. I am patient and will ensure that the student understands the lesson content. I am not afraid to criticize written work as I believe this is the way to improve student's grades. As a father of 3 children (including a son who will be sitting his exams in the summer of 2025) I have a rapport with students and am approachable with a sense of humour.
