Christopher

I am an MEng graduate from Cambridge University and am currently working as an aerospace engineer in the electric air taxi industry. In my spare time, I take on a select few students to help them in their academic careers and to hopefully inspire them to follow STEM-based careers.

Having spent most of my life in international schools, I am comfortable with tutoring students from all backgrounds. I am currently taking on students in the following areas, but am open to more tailored requests:

• Oxbridge coaching (personal statement, interview preparation and problem solving tactics)
• Maths, Physics and Chemistry (GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB)
• Study skills and revision techniques

• First Class Masters in Aerospace & Aerothermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Energy, Sustainability & the Environment from the University of Cambridge
• Perfect IB score (45/45) taking Maths, Physics and Chemistry HL, and English Lang and Lit, French and Economics SL
• 10 A*s for IGCSE, including Maths, Physics and Chemistry

I have tutored students who have gone on to study at various universities such as Cambridge, UPenn, Imperial and Exeter.

Tutoring Approach

I first exchange a couple of emails to identify the general topics that the student wants to focus on and what their end-goal objectives are.

I always dedicate the first 15-20 min of the first lesson to an informal chat with just the student as it is important for me to get to know the student and to make him/her/they feel comfortable. My next action is then to identify any weaknesses or difficulties the student might have and to address this from the get-go. This will improve the student's confidence in the subject.

I take great care in preparing classes, understanding the nuances of their curricula and presenting several methods of learning. Each student will have their own preferred way of learning and this is taken into account when structuring the lessons.
