I have a first class honours degree (BAhons) in Ballet Education from the Royal Academy of Dance and a PGCE in English for secondary education from National Forest Teaching School. For the last 6 years I have taught KS3-KS4 English in multiple ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’ Secondary Schools in Staffordshire and in my current role I work as the Deputy Head of English.
I have a wealth of knowledge for AQA English GSCE Literature and Language. I am a registered marker for AQA and regularly attend additional training for AQA syllabus and specification.
I make lessons fun and interesting and try to use interactive activities where ever possible.
I have the NPQH Head Teacher qualification
I have worked in both Primary and Secondary School settings teaching English. Furthermore, I have experience in teaching Extended Project to A-Level students who wish to gain an additional qualification to support their application to University. I have extensive experience working with students of all abilities and pride myself in my approach to diverse teaching and learning.
I am a patient person, who is able to challenge individuals with their learning in a supportive manner. I believe in educating students in a fun and interactive way to extend their understanding of English as a subject. My approach to teaching is to make the subject and syllabus accessible for all and nurture students to achieve the best outcomes.
