I currently live in the south of Spain working as an English teacher. Tutoring Experience

3+ years in an outstanding school, gaining QTS, specialising in maths, through the Ark Teacher Training program. 2+ years spent working closely with students with SEND and behavioural needs. I am also the creator and developer of a bespoke business-related maths program targeted at alternative provision learners which is now being delivered across multiple alternative provision centres. It includes course outline, lesson powerpoints & plans, student worksheets, and teacher support.

Tutoring Approach

My priority as an educator is to support and motivate my students to enjoy and feel comfortable on their learning journey. To do this, I mould the material I teach and how i deliver it to suit the individual learner, at their current level and to them as a person.

Academically, I put much more weight upon a students demonstration of understanding around skills, processes and problem solving than an ability to provide a correct answer to a question or problem. To do this, I regularity check for understanding using probing questions or asking students to explain the answer they have given. This approach is taken with the aim of developing a students wider subject understanding and fluency as well as their proficiency in answering content based questions.
