For me, teaching is an utter joy and privilege. I am fascinated by how different people learn and am thrilled when my students progress. I am meticulous, creative and thoughtful in my lesson plans, ensuring engagement and enjoyment for students whilst also developing their strengths to maximise progress and outcomes.
I am a qualified and practising secondary school teacher. Prior to my training, for five years I worked full time as a tutor but have tutored alongside studying for eight years. I am a grаduаte оf Durhаm (BA Histоry), аnd UCL (MA Centrаl аnd Sоuth Eаstern Eurоpeаn Studies).
I аm а very experienced tutоr, hаving taught а rаnge оf subjects, аnd hаve а pаssiоn fоr teаching аnd cоmmunicаtiоn. I have extensive experience teaching the AQA specification for GCSE English Language and Literature (texts I know very well include Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, Lord of the Flies, Power & Conflict cluster, Pride and Prejudice & Jekyll & Hyde) and the Edexcel specification for both GCSE and A Level History, as well as AQA A Level History. I have a very high success rate with many of my pupils achieving the highest grades and demonstrating a marked improvement since tuition.
I tailor my lessons to students' needs completely. I mix exam technique with syllabus coverage. I am inventive in my lesson ideas to ensure that students are engaged with the subject matter.
Please note: I offer English Literature and Language only, not EFL
Please also note: I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations otherwise I have to charge in full for the missed lesson.
