I am a current experienced online tutor and an accomplished teacher with over 20 years experience as a teacher and Head of Mathematics. I have a passion for Maths, Physics, Statistics and numbers.
I specialise in GCSE, A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and have also taught pupils in Years 5 and 6.
I have experience of a variety of examination boards including AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge. I strive to build confidence and progress with my students aware that one size does not fit all and adapt my approach as necessary.
I am able to tutor in GCSE Physics, Maths from Primary all the way to A- level and have tutored in the mathematical aspects of Biology, Psychology and Nautical Studies to name a few.
After obtaining my degree and working in 'real world' applications of Mathematics for a while, I returned to University and obtained my PGCE in Mathematics, I then progressed quickly over the course of ten years to become a Head of Mathematics and Statistics, seeking to further my development I moved abroad to advise upon school improvement and teaching methods, I returned to the UK to where I continue teaching Mathematics and Advanced Statistics.
My approach to tutoring and teaching is the same, fun and interesting! Maths can be a very dry and boring subject, it is vital to learn in such a way that when we do, we retain the knowledge. In addition it's also important to make it relevant and applicable. I am calm patient and have worked all across the spectrum of abilities and ages.
