Maths and Physics Lessons in Cranleigh

Hi, I’m Daniel! I have been very successful over the past few years helping students achieve their full potential in mathematics.

Since I have studied for my GCSEs, A-levels and Aerospace Engineering degree in recent years I offer a more affordable price compared to a lot of tutors and can easily recall what is required to achieve the top grades.

It’s important that a student gets on well with and trusts their tutor - after all, if they actively enjoy the lessons then they are much more likely to remember them for exams! The smaller age gap between my students and I definitely helps with this, as I can relate to them more and provide tips on how to deal with the pressure and workload they face throughout the year.

Tutoring Experience

I have become highly proficient teaching maths online, with over 3 and a half years experience teaching students of all ages, including KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-level.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in an active teaching approach - guiding students through exam questions by asking them smaller, more manageable questions along the way to break up the problem - rather than just fully demonstrating a question myself, which is far less engaging for the student. Practicing yourself is the best way to learn!

I also stress the importance of reflecting on full practice papers to students - what were the weak points? Was it time management? A certain topic? Reading the question carefully? This reflection process helps the student and I understand where we should target most their effort to achieve the highest possible grade, and I share a word document with my students outlining their weak points and progress to stay organised.
