I am currently a PhD student in the environmental science and crop production field. I enjoy academia and I have tutored for many years as a part time job. Outside of work I love to travel, explore new cities and also crochet.
I have tutored part time since 2018 both English and Maths from year 8 upwards to GCSE level. Before the pandemic I used to tutor in person but found it much easier to tutor online and so continued to do so post pandemic. I have taught over 200 hours and have many recommendations from previous agencies/parents. I have helped a number of students pass their second take on GCSE exams in English and Maths.
I always pre-plan lessons alongside what students are doing in school or what they ask to work on. We work as team working through examples, worksheets, revision and practice papers. It really depends on the student as to how I work. If games are best played to learn then that's what we do! I use Google Meet and Jamboard so that both the student and I can write down, discuss and share ideas and ways of working that we can both see in real time. I take pride in helping students gain confidence in their ability which ultimately leads to better grades and achieving their goals..
