As an experienced Mathematics tutor specialising in GCSE, A-level Mathematics, and Further Mathematics, I am currently pursuing a Master/PHD in Mathematics at the University of Southampton. My passion for the subject drives my commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals.

Understanding the financial burden that additional educational support can impose, I set my hourly rate with the intention of making tuition accessible and affordable to as many students as possible. My primary motivation is my love for mathematics and the joy of sharing that enthusiasm with my students, rather than profit.

I have extensive experience with all three major UK exam boards—Edexcel, OCR, and AQA. This in-depth familiarity with their specific syllabi, examination styles, and assessment criteria enables me to provide targeted and effective tuition, tailored to meet the unique requirements of each exam board. Whether it’s preparing for standard coursework, mock exams, or final assessments, I ensure that my students are well-equipped to excel.

Tutoring Experience

Over the last six years, I have been tutoring students primarily in GCSE and A-level Mathematics, including Further A-level Mathematics. My expertise extends to specialist Further A-level modules, such as Decision Mathematics, Further Pure Mathematics, and Further Mechanics.

In 2022, the average GCSE student I tutored improved by two grades, with one exceptional student progressing from a grade 3 in December to a grade 8 by June. All of my GCSE students achieved a 100% pass rate. In 2023, my students again saw remarkable improvement, with an average increase of more than two grades at GCSE. Additionally, all my A-level students achieved a grade A or higher.

I am proud to have supported five students with their Oxbridge applications, all of whom were successful. These included admissions for competitive programs such as Medicine and Mathematics undergraduate studies.

I have extensive experience working with various exam boards, including Edexcel, OCR, and AQA. Additionally, I have experience with the Scottish National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher exams, as well as the SAT and ACT exams in the United States, providing tailored support to students pursuing these qualifications.

Tutoring Approach

Each student is unique, so my teaching approach is always tailored to meet individual needs.

In a typical first session, we begin by working through a customised exam paper that I have created, which comprehensively covers the entire syllabus. This diagnostic assessment allows me to identify the student’s strengths and areas for improvement. Based on this analysis, I can then tailor subsequent sessions to address specific needs.

When introducing new topics, I provide worksheets that should be completed independently between sessions. Any difficulties or questions that arise can then be addressed in future sessions, ensuring that any confusion is thoroughly resolved.

For students aiming for the highest grades, the material will extend beyond the standard curriculum. This advanced content is designed to challenge them further and deepen their understanding, enabling them to excel.
