Hi! I'm Declan and I'm a 3rd year reading Medicine at the University of Oxford. Having relatively recently completed GCSEs and A levels, I can (sadly!) remember exactly how demanding they can Removed. Both GCSE and A levels require a lot of time spent on learning the material however this time spent can be minimised by learning effectively. Strategy is definitely key with these exams.
I have had many tutorials at my time in Oxford and, combined with my experience in delivering lessons outside of university, have allowed me to develop a technique which is structured and easy to follow, as well as malleable enough to work for you on an individual level.
I look forward to sharing my tips and tricks with you!
I have a large amount of tutoring experience, tutoring both A levels and GCSE. Feedback about my sessions has been excellent. A friend who I had tutorials with achieved an A* in her GCSE maths, and two other students (one GCSE and one A level are awaiting their results).
I have also helped three students with their personal statements and interview techniques for admission; two for medical school and one to
study maths/physics. I am pleased to say that all three students were successful with their applications.
I believe the best results come from really understanding key concepts and so the primary aim of my tutorials is to highlight any fundamental gaps in your understanding of a topic and make sure these are filled. GCSEs and A levels are notoriously syllabus centred, however, and I take this into account when delivering lessons; I find that spending time without any 'syllabus restraints' in mind can often make tricky topics much easier to grasp, and I will make sure you feel comfortable before progressing to exam questions. Exams at this level are highly structured and doing well can simply come from revising in the right way - I like to combine exam tactics with this passion for understanding to help clients reach their full potential.
