Maths Tuition in Chepstow

Experienced Mathematics Tutor | Patient and Engaging | All Levels | Chepstow and surrounding areas

Hello! I'm a passionate and dedicated mathematics tutor with over 7 years of experience helping students of all ages and abilities achieve their academic goals. My background in mathematics is both broad and deep, allowing me to assist with topics ranging from basic arithmetic and algebra to advanced calculus, statistics, and beyond.

I am Maths Excellence Coordinator at my current school, and teach pupils in Year 7 all the way through to A-Level.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a mathematics teacher in England and Wales (Brighton, Bristol, and Chepstow) since 2017. My experience is with pupils aged 11-18, and includes:

  • Primary-secondary transition phase summer schools;
  • Mainstream Years 7-9 Key Stage 3 mathematics (England and Wales);
  • Functional Skills Mathematics qualifications at Entry Levels 1-3 and Levels 1-2;
  • Mainstream and alternative curriculum GCSE Mathematics (Foundation, Intermediate, and Higher - England and Wales);
  • GCSE Numeracy (Wales);
  • GCSE Statistics and Further Maths (England, Pearson Edexcel);
  • Core Maths (England and Wales);
  • A-Level Pure Mathematics and Mechanics (Wales, WJEC);

In my teaching I support all levels of prior-attainment and learning needs, including those aiming to show their aptitude for functional skills, and those aiming for the highest grades and the sternest UKMT maths challenges.

I have also taught pupils attending an 'alternative curriculum' at their mainstream schools to support them to overcome difficulties in maintaining engagement in standard classes and support them to return with confidence to a learning environment with their peers.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach is tailored to each student's individual needs. I believe that understanding the 'why' behind mathematical concepts is just as important as mastering the 'how'. My lessons are designed to build confidence, foster critical thinking, and make math both accessible and enjoyable.

Whether you're preparing for exams, struggling with homework, or just looking to sharpen your skills, I'm here to help. I’m patient, approachable, and skilled at breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps. Let's work together to turn challenges into successes and achieve your full potential in mathematics!

Teaching Methods:
- Personalized lesson plans;
- Step-by-step problem-solving techniques;
- Real-world applications of mathematical concepts;
- Continuous assessment and feedback;
- Access to online accounts where pupils can make personalised progress in their own time between tutoring sessions, and get instant feedback with both skills practice and when attempting past exam papers.

I look forward to helping you succeed in mathematics! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a session.

Availability: I offer flexible scheduling options, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate your busy life.
